FAQs

We would love for you to honor us by choosing to spend your time with us at church. However, we recognize that choosing to get up and come to a church is not always easy, especially if you don't really know what to expect. Here you'll find some common questions and their answers and things that you can expect from us when you stop in for a visit.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you want. You'll be welcome you whether you're wearing jeans and a tee-shirt, a sweater and khakis, a dress, or a suit.

What is your worship service like?

Our worship service is traditional. We sing hymns, although there may be a gospel song thrown in as a special part. We have a story for the children before the sermon, and the messages are Bible-based. You can take a look at some of our messages here.

When are your worship services?

Our worship services take place every Saturday (we call it "Sabbath"). We have a study time for adults beginning at 9:30 AM with Sabbath School for kids ages kindergarten to high school beginning shortly after, although older kids are welcome to attend the adult class. Church service begins at 11:00 AM and is usually done by 12:00 or 12:15 PM. We have a potluck dinner on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month immediately following church service

Do you have a mid-week service?

We do! Every Tuesday at 6:30 PM we have a light potluck supper followed by a Bible study and prayer time at 7:00 PM, usually lasting until 8:00 or 8:15 PM.

What do you have for my Kids?

Each Saturday we have Sabbath School classes beginning after 9:30 in the morning for kids ages kindergarten to high-school. We also have a special time for younger kids during the worship service called "children's story." During the worship service, kids are welcome to come up to the front to hear a constructive story designed to teach them about God in a way that will make the moral applicable to their lives.

Pathfinders and adventurers

Our church participates in a co-ed scouting program called Pathfinders. Pathfinders is a group like boy or girl scouts for youth ages 10-18. Participants learn about Jesus and about how to be a good citizen in our world while learning practical skills and spending time with their friends. Pathfinders do many activities, including camping trips, and are organized into "clubs," which are like Boy Scout troops. See our Pathfinders page for more information. The younger kids in your family can enjoy participating in our Adventurer Club. Adventurers is like Pathfinders, but with age-appropriate activities for kids ages 5-9.

What else should I expect?

During our services, you might hear someone loudly say, "Amen!" Don't be alarmed. It simply means that they liked what was said. Someone might wish you a "happy Sabbath" when they see you for the first time, or when you two are going to part company. This is an Adventist tradition, and you should think of it like they are saying, "Hey! It's good to see you!" or "I hope you have a great day!" depending on the context.

You should also know that we are not perfect people. We make mistakes, just like everybody, and with God's help we are growing to acknowledge those mistakes and to begin to act the way God wants us to. We hope that you, too, will walk with us on that journey with Jesus toward His kingdom.
